We Support Local Music: Shawt Deezy

Get any track of great quality and solitifying the beat you will hear a young man by the name of Chris “Shawt Deezy” Stephens. He is a Florida native from the 850 area. Born in 1987, he is the youngest of his mother's two children. He attended Madison County Schools all the way through his High School years. As a child, he was always interested in baseball, instruments and their sound, and basketball.

He started to take the musical route with full force when he walked in on his father after having a stroke, and several months later, he passed. There were no feelings of pursuing the baseball career, being that his father was one of the main reasons he started playing baseball in the first place. He was also dedicated to the poetic side of things. He wrote poems to express his inner thoughts and feelings that he’d rather not speak about.

This was a great aspect that kept him in the mind of one day creating songs that would let the world know his feelings and outlook towards the world as a whole from his point of view. This are reasons why he makes soulful “HipHop Music”.

A Madison, Fl native, he started pursuing his music career aided by “DJ Earl”(Collegeradiolive.com) in 2005, when he relocated to Tallahassee, Fl. His first project was solo project and consisted of several collaborations from “D.J Earl” and “Ram”.

Although things didn’t work out with the group situation, Shawt Deezy was determined to pursue his career in music. He then came out with a mixtape called, “Soldier World”. This mixtape was hosted by DJ Earl (Collegeradiolive.com).

When late 2008 hit, he then began to work on the first solo mixtape of his return, that would be the door opener for his plan. The mixtape, "Da Year Of Da Undadawgz", which is available @ www.soundclick.com/shawtdeezy, has been one of the main things to drive his self-esteem.

Since then, he has joined forces with “Coneygurl,” “D’Necya,” and “Mixture,” as well as “DJ Tycoon” and many other artists. He feels as if his dream of making the world feel his music is "Unstoppable, Untouchable, as well as Inevitable" as he works on more current projects. He is a very talented individual who not only writes for himself and others, but also does recording, mixing and mastering his own music, as well as for others also. He has been featured in several magazines, such as “Swaggerific Magazine.”
